Sorry if this isn't the place to post, but I am trying to find out if the boat lanes are valid with the lake this low. We are going in April and I just want to be as safe as possible.

thanks

It is rumored Lance Vick’s lanes are good to this level. There is a rumor of another lanes chip being released this week that does the current lake level. You might try sending a pm to Lance and ask, or hope he sees the thread and replies. He is the authority on his product and I would only take his answer as gospel.

The marked boat lanes are good for the most part but you still need to be cautious. Some of the buoys have drifted and I know one that's gone. One of the guides out here was in the lane down by Little Caney, hit a tree and damaged his prop. I'm hugging the buoys right now.

Ran all over the lake last weekend with no problems… i would highly recommend idling the area by the point in little caney, but other than that I felt like the lake is much easier to navigate and fish low like this. Hopefully the fish will start playing nice soon, if not it’s a great time to mark your own trails to your favorite fishing areas.

Was told it’s safe Elton run 99 percent of the lanes. Just don’t do the so called guide lanes. A few are sketchy lol

With the technlogy today one should be able to mark and make a lane to be safe to a certian depth and above. If it is not on the lane then one is on their own.

I’ve been running around out there since the late 80’s. Lances chip is by far the most accurate. He even touched it up back around 2012 when the lake fell 7’ low. Which is where it’s at now. I’ve run all over main runs lately with no problem.

Have you ran with the lake 6 foot low? If so how tight do you or should you stay to the lanes?

ran it back when it was lower with the original chip.

keep it on 200' view and stick tight to the line and you should be fine.

I would not run hard into any of the coves right now unless you can for sure see the lane and it is on the card, there are some hidden surprises out there.
main lake stick to the line and you are good.

Be careful where Lance has the red XXX going across chicken ridge and coming out of Little Mustang to the main lake, and coming from the main lake as you turn to go into Williams creek.

Found the "widow maker" in birch this weekend by accident. I didn't hit it but it's 1 inch below the water line. If heading north in the boat lane in birch, it's in between duck and pipeline about 20 feet east of the guide chip boat lane. Sorry I should have taken a pic of the gps coordinates. Be careful.
