Like the old school grub on a jig head?

Love grubs. Great multi species bait! I feel like the old grub on a jig head has fallen out of favor.

Last three weeks, grub on an underspin has been the deal.

Grubs have pretty much been replaced by smaller swimbaits. For some reason Bass fishermen feel they need something more realistic and more expensive than a grub. I am as guilty as anyone of that. I do still use grubs for Sandbass and Hybrids though.

Twin tail grub on a stand up jig head can be awesome.

I fish grubs year round. This time of year I mainly stick with the Fat Albert single tail. When things warm up, I tend to start throwing a hula grub.

I use magnum rage grubs all the time for flipping and punching grass mats.

I use twin tail grubs almost exclusively as a spinnerbait trailer. The last time I fished Fork on a really cold day I vertically jigged what I believe is a Mann's grub on a 1/4 oz. jig head; has a tail like an old jelly worm and connected with a 3 pounder. I'll still fish them. A perfect "go to" when you need something they haven't seen.

I liked the do nothing Mann's Sting Ray grub. Hard to find something that simple that just works, especially in cold water.

for me... I have a dedicated grub spinning rod - 7'1" Loomis GLX, Shimano Stradic Cl4 spooled up with 10lb mono... I pour my ball head jigs, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 - all with Gamakatsu 3/0 round bend hook... almost exclusively Zoom fat albert grub... as a general rule i use the 1/8 for swimming the group or fishing rip-rap and grassy areas, as it doesn't fall deep into the rocks or grass and get hung up as much... the 1/4 and 1/2 are more for open water mud bottom dragging - the 1/4 to 15 foot, the 1/2 from 15+ out... wind also plays a factor in that the higher the wind the heaver the head to keep better contact with the bait... as well you can use worms, craws, ect on that ball head too right...

Being primarily a bank fisherman, I throw grubs nearly every time I go out. I have a dedicated casting rod to throw 5” grubs on a 3/16oz jig head. Usually a BBB finesse worm jighead or a Ned EWG.
