I’m behind..went to Monticello on Super Bowl Sunday… disappointing day. Ended up catching 5 small bass and 5 white bass but was hoping for some big ones. Only caught one at the big bridge starting out throwing rapala jointed crank bait.. took a while. There wasn’t much bait around but a couple of guys were wearing out the crappie. Tried throwing flutter spoon, 6xd and 10 xd before paddling to the railroad bridge.

The further I paddled the less life I saw. Water temps 48. Fished a long time and finally started catching a few along with white bass.

Decided to do some exploring and paddled within a 100 yards as far as I could go to the northwest end.

Thought I’d seen hogs from a long ways off, then thought they might have been buzzards.. nope they were hogs.. everywhere.. digging everything up.. couldn’t get them all but saw a bunch.

Not the kind of hogs I was looking for.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
