I was given a Bass X 7’2” Graphite Medium-Heavy Medium rod (bxc72mhm). Specs say 3/8-1oz lure
What type of lure do you think is better suited for this rod? With the medium action the rod seems to have a lot of play.
Thanks in advance.

Agree with treble hooked baits like crankbaits, topwaters,, and 1\2 to 1oz treble hooked swimbaits.

It should be a solid chatterbait rod up to 1/2 oz. Bigger cranks and spooks

I love a lipless on this rod. it is a rod that is good for a lot of techniques, but a lipless feels the best
