Was at Bass Pro today and saw they have Lowrance HDS Carbons on sale. The 12โ€ is $1,495.00 and the 9โ€ is $799.00 I believe. Free install and $100.00 gift card with purchase.

I went to Louisiana this weekend and dropped by BPS Bossier to look at these and the Garmin UHD, GPSMap, and Striker models as well as all things Lowrance that are Live capable and not. I've gotten the idea when I go Live at the bow, I'm just going to put the biggest and cheapest unit I can find at the console. 9 inch Garmin Striker or Lowrance Hook Reveal. If they'll communicate well enough to share waypoints with what's at the bow and visa versa, I'm good. In demo mode they appeared about equal but I have watched a video on you tube that compared all three major brands in the LIVE variant and the Garmin crushed the other two. Probably late spring I'll be buying the stuff to put on my rig a piece at a time. If I can scrounge up the cash to buy one of these HDS Carbons before this sale is gone, I'll go Lowrance all the way.

Lowrance Hook Reveal doesn't have ethernet or nmea, not sharing anything with it.

Garmin EchoMap UHD would be good if youโ€™re thinking 9โ€ range. You can find them out there for $600 or so
