Got my boat registration in my inbox today. Love letter from TPWD asking for money again. Just wanted to post of pic of my little boat so my local rep could see what I am complaining about. An inflatable boat with an electric motor should not have to have a registration sticker. They wont stick on the boat and its just another opportunity to rob me. I am OK with the registration for my Tracker 175 TXW. But the inflatable...

How do they know you have it?? The dealer doesn't send them something do they? It shouldn't require a registration.

When I was in high school I had one of those ABS plastic two man boats with a trolling motor. Had to put TX stickers on it and get it registered. It was basically a chunk of foam with plastic molded around it. What a rip off.
Nice looking rig you have. You running any electronics on it?

I don't think any boat under 10ft should have to be registered. The amount of jon boats that are illegal to use by this law is mind boggling.

I contacted my State Rep's office about the ridiculous requirement to title and register battery-powered kayaks and such. They got back to me with a statement from TPWD that the Feds give them lots and lots of money for recreational boating and the Feds want everything titled for theft tracking purposes. I call BS! on that, but what can you do? It's money, money, money! I built a homemade boat trailer, and it cost me $144.00 to title, register, weigh, DPS inspection, DMV paperwork, plus three road trips. Trailers under 4000 pounds don't require titles, but they gave me an assigned number and demanded a title for my 600-pound boat trailer! $$$$$$!

DMV, TPWD and many other state bureaus must have hired a whole bunch of MBA's and told them to come up with ways to raise money, but God-forbid, don't call it a TAX!

I'd like to see TPWD take some of that kayak money and rebuild the Handicapped Kayak Launch that was built at Lamar Boat Ramp, on St. Charles Bay, dedicated in July, 2017, and destroyed in Hurricane Harvey six weeks later. My State Rep didn't have a good story on that. The politicians already had their pictures in the paper!

Great fishing boat, PK. IslandJim

Come on fellas; they need that money for the Share Lunker program and to buy gun boats to patrol the border with (dont get any fed money for that now days).
And don't forget, we gotta maintain those helicopters for doing MLD surveys on private high fence ranches.

Far far too much work to improve boat ramps, parks, etc. so don't get any ideas.
