No, maybe it was a bad angle. It was today on the water when they didn't have a camera in his boat and he caught maybe his 2nd fish, his smaller one. They showed the back of his boat and it looked like the flat part between the sponsons was metal.

Did not see the time you mentioned. Did notice that he was fishing out of the new 21 XrT Triton. It's got a "insert" looking motor mount area and in some color schemes, the transom could look like a metal insert. Wouldn't think he's had it long enough to get any special mods done. https://www.tritonboats.com/fiberglass/21-xrt.html

Just looked at the website and the transom is a different color than most of the boat is what it appears. The boat on the website was mostly black with white pinstripes and the transom was all white.
