Yes one of the bayous that helped form it was named after a French explorer; if I remember right, this where D’arbonne originated as a name. It has two major streams of water feeding it. Bayou D’arbonne and Corey Creek. Corney runs north all the way into Arkansas and can be navigated in a bass boat a few miles north of the lake. I used to go up there just to see the beauty of the area. It has sloughs that branch off of it that also hold good numbers of most species of fish native to the area. I kind of figured some of the MLF guys would make the run up to some of those sloughs. Bayou D’arbonne comes from the west and eventually intersects Corney. I think one of the spots Ott DeFoe was fishing may have been that intersection.

Yep, DAR BONE to the locals, of course, there are several different ways to pronounce Lafayette and New Orleans too, depending on what part of the world one is from.

Grew up just north of Lake Dar Bone. So yes that is the correct pronunciation.
