I’ve never fished on but going looking at trying it. Weightless or jig head?

Teasers just need a screw lock [no swivel]. You'll want weighted jigheads for your hooked baits. The wire rig itself hardly weighs anything.

If you do all weighted, put a little bit heavier jig heads on the bottom 2 snaps. Helps keep it from spinning in the water column.

Depending on the depth of water you are fishing but 1/8 oz jig head with the Strike King 3.75" Rage Swimmer is a good start.

Reel slow, then slow down , then slow down again.

I have a setup for thicker cover that has belly weighted hooks and you can hide the hook in the plastic. I can come through grass and brush easier than with exposed jig heads. I have a separate setup with the jig heads for open water.

1/64 ounce jig heads, 5 of em with 16 blades.Feels like nothing casting on a spinning reel with with 20lb braid. I've never done it but I heard it's pretty silky or silly. My ears aren't that good anymore.

This is good advice. 20lb flouro is better than braid. My cousin told me that and he is 100% correct. Less line around the head and the baits.

I'm certainly not an expert on the umbrella rig at all but Flouro is and the above info is good.

What is the advangage of using Fluorocarbon line vs. mono or a co-polymer line for the A-rig.

What gear ratio reel are you using? How many times do you rotate the handle in a minute?

There are a bunch of Youtube video's on how to set one up and how and where to fish them. Watch some of those, they can help you get set up.

I'm a braid to leader guy...I use mono of FC depending on how deep I'm fishing the rig.

What does depth have to do with line choice?
