Newbie question : asking whom to contact about a guided trip in spring to include smallmouth. Lots of guides for whites and hybrids around Belton Lake, which are of some interest, but I REALLY want to catch a smallie or two. Thanks for any response. Barry

I know several guy's who catch them regularly on Belton, but they aren't guides. Actually don't know any guides on the lake who specifically target smallmouth. Know a couple of largemouth bass guides, but all the rest are white bass and hybrids.

You might give Charles Whited a call and talk it over with him. https://www.barefootfishingtours.com/

I never seemed to catch them there just largemouth and spots, finally started catching them on dropshot mid lake on steep rock I guess bluffs on. I was always told fish the dam and you will catch them but never has worked for me.

I catch them best on swimbaits in what I would consider the main part of the lake.

I used to catch spots and smallies around rocky points near the dam on small crawfish crankbaits and 1/4oz jigs.
None of them were much in size,

Always manage a few smallmouth on Belton but have had much more luck and better quality on Texoma.

Yep. If ANYTHING is biting on Belton it will be the 101 million smallies in there. Might have some size, might not. But they're easy to catch.
