My favorite for most techniques is the Daiwa Tatula Elite and I have used a bunch of different ones over my 50 years of casting experience. Now even though I stated the Elite is my favorite, I think the Daiwa Tatula SV TW is a more versatile reel because you can set it up to cast almost as far as the Elite and then you can set it up to skip docks with it without backlashing.

The SV TW is the best reel that I have used for anti backlash control compared to any other reel out there and it is easy to set up. It is better at cast control than the DC reels also. I can say that because I have a Shimano Curado DC also.

Best reel for the money Daiwa CR 80.

I would go with this....Diawa Steez 103HA

Good size, great speed, and stupid light

I haven't held or used any of the latest Steez reels, but if they're any better than my 103 it would get my vote.
