I’m fixin’ to order some BG Baby Shad and decided to try some Crappie Nibbles.
Question: The Berkley PowerBait Crappie Nibbles are $3.99, and the Berkley Gulp! Crappie Nibbles are $5.59. Don’t mind paying that little amount more, but I thought I’d ask if the Gulp version was actually better than the standard version.
Also, I was think of just getting chartreuse and pink. Should those do the trick?
Thanks for the input.

The only Gulp I have experience with is the soft plastic baits. If the Crappie Gulp is anything like the Bass Gulp I would stay away. I have thrown hundreds of dollars of Gulp plastics in the trash because they have a bad habit of dehydrating. Even when you buy the recharge juice or what ever they call it the baits still never recover and end up in the trash. Some of the packs are never even opened and end up in the trash. I wont even buy Gulp when I see it on clearance now.

I have used the Crappie Magnet slab bites and they are a lot cheaper than Berkley's version... Also you can get them at Academy...

I ended up ordering 2 jars of the standard Berkley Crappie Bites. Living in the sticks, I don’t live 5mins from the Academy like I used to. But it’s a good trade to be out of the traffic.
I’ll give those a try when I get in to town.

I have the best luck with. berkley power bait nibbles 18 X. There are 75 ( I think ). And I cut them in 1/3 . They don’t stain . They don’t fall off . And most of the time I can catch 5-10 fish on same bite. My record is 21. On 1 bait I got them at Bass Pro ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/02/full-464-127280-a1c31778_be27_4f1f_8908_8a737eb267ac.jpeg)

been there, done that...nope, none, nada. Some guides I know swear by Nibbles,..others never. Mostly personal preference and confidence.

I don't use nibbles in the cooler months but one thing you can do to see why Berkley nibbles (the only crappie nibbles on the market) do so much better than the rest is put one on your jig, put it just under the water and watch how fast it disperse..... It put a scent trail behind your jig and the only scent pellet that I know that does it.....Now this is in the warmer months, during the cooler months I use a liquid or jelly from Smelly Jelly in the garlic scent that has been giving me great results and last.....

I never thought nibbles attracted bites but I do believe they cause crappie to hold on to a bait a little longer when they strike. That along makes them worth using at times.

Love Berkley Nibble Bites. That’s mostly what I use to catch Crappie

I was out and about today and found some Gulp nibbles at Academy. It appears they are made out of the same material that the soft plastic lures are made out of so you made the right choice by going with the standard Berkley nibbles.

I put a nibble on my jig hook with good success. Crappie catfish and bream will hit.
