Sunday was a very very good day. Didn’t get on the lake till around 1 but fished till dark. The area in front of Highport is somewhere i’ve done well before so I headed there almost immediately. I never left that spot. I don’t keep or count fish but im guessing somewhere around 30 would be right. Most were of good weight and size but one just took the cake. I’ve misplaced my scale but as you can tell from the pic it was much much longer than 24”. It was a fat little pig too! Monday was just an ok day. Lots and lots of short strike misses. Tuesday seemed like it was going to be a repeat until I decided to do some scouting. The sonar turned to spaghetti on my first spot. Caught a lot of them there but none were coming in at the size i want so i moved on. My thoughts were to follow the main channel near shore and boy howdy did it pay off. 50-56 ft of water was were i found them. The second large fish came from this tactic.

Since TPWD has apparently discontinued stocking lakes in 2019 it is nice to go to a self sustainable
fishery with such fantastic results. You just really can’t beat Texoma for scenery either.

Also I know this won’t be a popular thing to say but I turned off my thumper. I caught more without it on than on.

Awesone! I DS'ed 5 box fish there 3 trips ago. Checked there the following trip but they weren't there. The river channel by the 1st cove just East of HP, Texas side, got the best graph.
