An area on the Brazos north of Lake Granbury. The area is just off a street or road which is named Tin Top with an origin in Weatherford Texas. With an easy access off I-20 traveling south for @ 10-13 miles , google and locate, sand bass run will happen as waters in the lake rise. The critical element is rain and water flow. It can be fun at the mouths of feeder creeks.

I have never fished there but it looks like a fairly good area of the Brazos. One of these days I'll have to give it a try. Have fun.

I love fishing there, it's about the only boatable river anywhere near me. It's a dead zone in the heat of the summer, but in Fall, Spring, and Winter, it can be very productive. Sand Bass run should be firing up in the next three to five weeks.

There is a loading ramp in place. Be careful traveling from ramp south toward lake Granbury , several boulders just below surface at or near first large bend going south.

You can launch at the ramp at Tin Top rd. Going North up to PK, it gets shallow fast in spots, and just about no chance of getting past Horseshoe Bend, in a boat. There is a lot of good sunken timber along the shore, on the way up. As long as you have a boat that'll get along ok in two foot or less, getting to Horseshoe bend is not bad. Going South to Granbury, as long as you stay in the main river channel, you can fly just about all the way to Granbury. Lots of good spots after the first turn to Granbury, from the ramp. Several holes, ledges, points, creeks, and coves, and some good sunken timber along the shore. Also lots of nice wildlife along the shore on the way down. I've seen many nice deer, and turkey, along with just about every type of wildlife while boating and fishing.

When the sand bass are running, from that first turn, all the way back up to the bridge at the ramp, the action is insane.
