I've owned tons of reels over the years and I think part of the reason you will get mixed reviews on the same reel is all the variables. What rod they are on, line type, line size etc. So I suggest maybe even asking for reviews that go beyond general opinion and be more specific about the application. Having said that.....these reels are excellent in most applications. IMO
