Head over to the main river channel along loafers bend, if you have a map card locate the river channel bend on the west side of loafers where it turns back towards the island, that entire stretch of the river channel usually holding stripers this time of year. Check the mouths of the big and little ricky

It seems to vary, the stripers in the main lake can be suspended from about 30' to the bottom in 50+ fow. The fish in the river are stacked up to 10' off the bottom. Saturday around 9:00 they quit, you could see them hugging the bottom and spreading out when they shut down in the area, had to go looking for active fish

We would let the flukes hit the bottom then come up 1 crank of the reel. The spot we were in first thing in the morning, the bite was real finicky and improved later in the morning once we moved to a new area of the lake. We saw lots of suspended fish from 25’- 40’ but the ones that were biting were on the bottom.

How long will deadsticking be productive on Whitney? Is there a timeframe or specific water temp you start to look for as we go through February?
