Taking my son to Caddo for his first time. I always used to stay at Shady Glade but am looking to stay somewhere different. House or cabins are fine. Prefer a place with a kitchen or at least a burner or two so I can cook.

Anybody have recommendations or great experiences to share?

Besides looking on Airbnb or VRBo, I’d look at Hodgepodge Cottages or Spatterdock. Both are close to Shady Glade because you’ll probably end up using the SG ramp.

My wife and I stayed at Spatterdock and they will have everything you're looking for plus they're only a few minutes drive to the boat ramp. Couple of different cabins to choose from with access to canoes and kayaks. We fished with a guide for a half day and I can recommend Paul Keith for that. We didn't catch anything bigger than 2-3lbs but we caught plenty and learned a lot about the history of the lake.

Last cast cabin. They are constantly making it better. Mark Perry stayed there before also with good reviews

I'm only finding First Cast cabin. You have a link?

It’s same place. I think they changed names during remodel

We stayed there for about a week doing some on the water product testing. That place is very nice and comfortable. Even in January we ca7ght fish right out in front of it from my boat. Prices were good. They go out of their way to keep you comfortable.

I suggest you bring in food to cook as they have a full kitchen with all the dishes you will need. Restaurants are scarce out there. Cell coverage/WIFI was good enough to make calls, email reports and make international calls.

The wife and I have stayed at the Moon Glow cabins a few times.tbey are good too but I prefer First Cast.

There are a couple of decent places on AirBnb that are good to stay at.

I appreciate all of the recommendations. I went with Hodge Podge staying in the shipwreck. My 9 yo son is going to be excited that he gets to sleep in an old boat. If it was just me and the wife we would have stayed at First Cast. That place looks nice.
