I just had a live scope installed. I was told I should get a better/bigger starting battery because the one I have is a smaller one. What should I look for in way of specs of a new battery? Do I need a certain amperage?

Group 27 or Group 31; Make sure you have the minimum CCA/MCA to start your motor and the most "reserve capacity" you can find.

What motor do you have and what electronics as well. Without that can’t figure how much battery you need.

I got a group 31 Pro Guide AGM in my new boat, it seems legit and all day fishing and my LS still shows 12.6+ volts

I hade great luck with the Duracell group 31 AGM in my last boat. I fished 2-3 days a a week and the battery was 4 years old when I sold it and still going strong.

Your motor needs at least 1000mca, I'd go at a minimal a group 31 agm.

Dual purpose will cost you CCA. Agree with at least 1000 on the modern motors.

A dual purpose will be better since you're using it for electronics as well.

This - I was wrong. I believe what you have should work. Whether it'll take the LiveScope, multiple graphs, poles, livewells, ect all day will depend. But this should keep you "Crankin'".

Your motor's manual should tell you how many MCA/CCA are required.

But the LifePO4 30 amp with a 3 amp charger. You can mount it in a rod locker and then you will be fine and your not out a lot of money. Use it dedicated to the livescope.
