Just bought some property on the far NW side up by Oak Point, never fished Lewisville, never owned a kayak. I have kayak access, is that part of the lake any good for kayak fishing? The yak would only be used for this area, up to 380 on the north and the toll bridge to the south. Would like to hear from someone who has been out there. Thanks in advance.

If you can kayak up in to the mouth of the elm fork trinity, I have seen some nice crappie pulled out from there. Few decent bass, some smaller catfish and some really big gar.

I have not been up in there in a while but when I did go up that way I had good luck.

I can't comment about the area, but as a fellow kayak noob I say welcome. Bought my first yak last April. 18 days on the water last year and 151 crappie met the fillet knife. My fried crappie, cornbread, and okra game is on point now. Fishing is a work in progress. Learned a bunch, and so much more to come. I'm just scratching the surface. Good stuff.

I was out there on my skiff last year, and there is a vast area that is inert now. I think that goes back to the drought when there was no water covering that end for many months, and the vegetation died. HOWEVER, if you do get closer to waterflow - like the mouth of Pecan Creek? I was liking that. Have to remember there is no clear/strong outflow from the Trinity into Lewisville anymore -- due to the timber blockages (thanks USACE!).

That spot is terrible. Prob just best to let me launch my kayak there. Hahaha. Really, I have caught a ton of giant catfishthere over the years. Not unrealistic to catch 50#-60# cats.
