Here is the video from Thursday's trip! The monsters are out there but we were happy catching quality box fish on the river edges!

Do you only use live bait?

Notaguide, no, I prefer to use live bait since it makes it easier to fish multiple rods. I also use topwater, swimbaits, slabs, deadsticking and trolling to catch striper.

Just curious. I prefer live bait as well but maybe it’s easier to get on Texoma

Depends on the time of year for sure! Right now they are in the coves so 1-2 throws and we are done…. Once they move into the deep water then it’s a 2-4 hour ordeal to catch them…

The bait that was shallow had disappeared and are suspended in the deep water. Fortunately Deadsticking and thumping is working! Ed from Ed’s Guide Service caught these! [Linked Image]

The fish are super healthy and fat this year! The shad and the striper rebounded from the cold spell and shad kill!

I spent the weekend building thumpers and living vicariously through my friends… some epic fishing this weekend with great reports of fish caught thumping and deadsticking! Ed from Ed’s Guide Service caught the biggest one but Brandon had a nice one as well! Giants were released to catch again!

Wow what a weekend deadsticking on Texoma! Ed and I tried N on Saturday however there was not much wind in the areas we fished. The thumper brought them in they just didn’t bite aggressively! We managed about 7 and a nice blue cat! I used a tandem tig with a 1/2 oz jighead on a dropper loop and a 1.5 oz jighead on the bottom. Caught mine on bubblegum and pearl zoom flicks dipped in Chartreuse Spike it! Matt limited out west also using pearl with chartreuse! Justin and Doug landed some nice ones as well…. From Justin “A bit of a learning curve with dead sticking. What we finally found that worked for us were pink flukes, drop them down to the bottom and slowly slowly reel them up a few reels and drop back down”

Ed went west and found them today! [Linked Image]
