Ok, I cry UNCLE!!!! Can't seem to find them on Benbrook but I know there are out there. Where are you catching them and what are you using?

very rare that I fish that lake but i do know it can be a tough one. Water level is probably way down or I would suggest the creeks. Soon you will be able to find them on the riprap at the dam area.

I used to fish it a lot a while back. Mid lake there is a concrete structure… that’s a popular spot.. just north and east of that is a big timber field, before livescope I’d go stump to stump and grind out a nice sack… minnows were always the key there… don’t spend TOO much time on one spot. Trust me when I say, for crappie, livescope let’s you find where the fish are.. or aren’t

Hello there it has been a while Benbrook still has a good population of bigger fish. It takes patience. You have to keep moving even when you find fish they may be in a neutral stage not actively feeding , and you may go through a variety of color combinations.

You will benefit from Sac-lait Pat's advice as he is quite the Crappie catcher. He used to fish the marina in W"ford via a tube and wear out the crappie when others struggled.

Benbrook is one of the harder lakes in the DWF area to fish. I live 10 minutes from the water but catch myself driving an hour to go to other lakes instead of just figuring out Benbrook. It can drive you insane sometimes.

I promise you are not alone sir! I'm off Friday and was wanting to go fishing but I'm looking at lakes other than the one I'm close too. I should probably just fish it exclusively and figure it out but it's like trying to figure out a woman sometimes. Lol. No offense to the women on here. Just a joke.

Grew up fishing Benbrook. It was probably one of the best crappie lakes I have fished. We would zigzag in 12-15' until we found a brushpile and fish it with small plastic jigs. My PB is from Benbrook. I never weighed it, just held it in amazement and let it go to reproduce more. Mouth was the size of a yeti cup. Way too big to eat. The east side of the lake was always good to me from the dam to the concrete structure.

Cover or ledges not too far from spawn or prespawn areas is where I'd look
