over cast, water lightly stained, 63-65 degrees. boated 15-20 bass, biggest about 3 pounds caught by grass line sitting in 8 ft throwing to 3-5 ft flipping brush hog. back off and starting throwing swim jig and spinner bait started to get a good reaction strike. was able to boat some flipping trees in about 10 ft of water. overall a productive day on the lake

Maybe I should check it out. I think it's not too far from San Antonio?

So, there was some decent grass growth?

It’s not hydrilla grass he’s talking about. It’s just grass that grew while lake was lower and now is under water again. Heard that from a friend.

How clean is the lake to run, and is it fishing good right now. Supposed to fish it next weekend, and have never been to the lake.

Get a map or use your GPS. There are some hazards on this lake.

I went last week caught over a hundred whites, never moved the boat. It was a blast! I also fished for bass earlier in the day all fish were pretty small except for one in the 2.5-3 lb range.

TP&W destroyed this lake back 2013 / 2014-ish when they sprayed and killed all the grass. Word from the park office is that they know they screwed up because the lake now has serious O2 issues in the summer. Everything under a certain depth is barren. It's still the home of my PB and first DD 12.3 lb bass so it'll always be special but it's a shell of what it used to be. crying crying

Oh no, TPWD didn't destroy the lake, they "controlled" the vegetation! Be happy. TPWD has performed this critical service to many Texas lakes!
