So far January 2022 has started out good on the fishing trail. Been catching plenty of Rainbow Trout, nice pond Channel Cats, and even a couple of nice sunnies. I fished a couple of trout stockings both the day of the stocking and the day after. Limited easily with two friends of mine, Mark and Steve. Gold Super Duper Lures and Berkley Trout Bait were the baits used. Caught a bunch and kept the limits. Also fished at Mark's ranch. Myself and Steve caught some nice Channel Catfish using cut bait from Bluegill. Steve took a couple for the dinner table .A nice Hybrid Sunfish was also caught and released, using worms. The only bad thing fishing Mark's ranch is that you do not want to leave. Also met up with fishing buddy and fellow TFF'er "ifishlbj", at a resent trout stocking and he was putting on a fishing clinic. He was catching them just about every cast. Starting the New Year out right fishing with friends. It just don't get any better! fish

Caught more of these little beauties today at Hamilton Creek Park Lake. Second visit to HCPL this week. Managed my first 5 in about 30 minutes. Hardly any other folks fishing when I arrived at about 10:00. Wind started howling out of the north and the temp dropped about 10 degrees quickly. All of my fish were caught close to the two big aerators. Probably my last trip there until next winter. All total probably landed 12-15 rainbows in about an hour and a half. Had many more short strikes. All fish were released for other folks to catch! Caught everything on gold Super Duper spoons.

Up next Bullfrog Pond and Kingfisher Lake in Austin. Never fished there before but fish are stocked there every two weeks during the season. Then, it will be The Blue Hole in GTX later in the week. Very close to home. Good luck to everybody and stay safe

Looks like you started at Hamilton Creek where you left off at Palmetto. There are several stockings taking place this upcoming week in my area. Will hit one for sure. Going to also try to hunt for some winter Bluegills. hide2

Thanks Steve and Doc for the replies. Doc: You and Steve will easily pass me by with one trip to Fayette! If you guys put the time in like last year, I could only dream of catching half the fish you catch! I think 2022 is going to be a very good year! cheers

Has anybody else noticed these? I ordered some from BPS. They are stamped Super Duper 502. Only difference is they do not have the prism decal or whatever you call it. I’ll report in a day or two if they catch fish. Made in China.

Easy to add prism tape, it makes a difference IMO

Hope you guys have been fishing. I fought the crowd at Blue Hole Park again today. Another short trip but managed to catch and give away 6. Very crowded again today. Easily over a 100 folks again. Had at least a dozen guys want to see what I was using. I was very cordial but didn’t share information about my 2 lb test Trilene. This is where I fish at Blue Hole Park when the flow over the dam allows me to safelywalk out there. Picture is not from today.[Linked Image]

I had a last again blast again today. I’ll fish this spot until can’t score at least one limit.
