hello everyone!
ive seen quite a bit on dam fishing for striper, and as a younger angler with minimal access to boats/electronics, I was wondering what that was all about. Denison dam is of the most prominent that I've heard, and was wanted to know if anyone has gone there in recent days and how the fishing works. I appreciate any help!

It's been many years but the routine for me was a 14' long spinning rod/reel setup, a weighted popping cork with a white or chartreuse jig a couple of feet down the from the popping cork. There was a wall along the discharge and you had to get your line into that stream of water. Basically you could walk to the top of the hill, cast out and drift/walk your way down the hill letting your jig drift down the magic seam. I don't know if there is still that same access but when they were generating and you hit that seam-it was ON!

They have not been generating in quite a while with the lake being low. Not worth going right now. When they are generating regularly it can be good, even better when floodgates have been open a bunch. Fish numbers really drop if its been a while since floodgates have been open.

There is an ongoing discussion in the Bank Fishing forum. Lots of good info to read. Click on the link below.
