Well I left my boat in the slip for a few weeks while I was waiting for the lift to arrive and uh-oh this green now brown scum is all over my boat. I trailer-ed the boat and gave it the old college try with a pressure washer and this s*** is not coming off. I tried some cleaner chemical "on and off" I believe. Now this will take it off but only a small area at a time and lots of fumes and scrubbing.
Is there a local service or company that can get my hull clean again?

Appreciate any info....

Mike

get some Hull Cleaner at Walmart or Academy. Wear gloves and eye protection....oscalic acid, something like that but it cleans. Wipe on, rinse. Been there and it works

I had a scum line that I tried all kind of hull cleaned on that did not work. I saw a post on here that used THE WORKS bowl cleaner so I did it and my hull is white again. Be sure to get some rubber gloves and just pore it on a rag and let it sit on the stan for about 30 minutes then just wash it off.

Thanks for all the information guys.
I guess I'll get me some rubber gloves and try it again.

How about if the hull is black, what you recommend?

The Works toilet bowl cleaner. It doesn't harm the gel coat but does strip off wax.

Go to Amazon and buy Oxalic acid in bulk. Mix with water and use a pump sprayer to apply. Rinse well. Won't hurt the fiberglass or gel coat, but you'll need to wax.

3M Perfect - It - Gelcoat has a whole line of products from light to heavy cutting, polish and wax. I did my old boat, it was a white 20 year old Skeeter SL 210 and it looked brand new when I was finished with it. It had a brown ring on it and everything below the water line was brown. Just follow the instructions on the website. Even did a friends boat that was black glitter. Looked awesome when we finished.
