Is the Motors, transmission's and frame/chassis the same in them?
What are the differences?

Same chassis, power train, electronics. Different cosmetics and comfort features.

Basically the same trucks. Purchase the the one that gives you more bang for your buck.

I worked at the GM assembly plant in Shreveport where they build the mid-size trucks. The Chevrolet and GMC all go down the same line. Same thing happens at the Arlington plant where they build the Tahoes and Yukons. Same for full size trucks at the Ft. Wayne and Flint plants. Workers pull from the same stack of frames, engines, transmissions, rear ends, and etc. They have to check the build sheet to pull the right wheels, front clip (front fenders, hood, grill), and badging when the truck gets to their station. Cadillac and Denalis use finer materials for the interiors. My guesstimate is about 90% parts commonality which saves GM alot of money. GM used to allow tours and it's pretty cool to see the process and just how big the facilities are in person.

Anyways, here's a photo of the assembly line at Ft. Wayne. The white truck is a Chevy and the black one is GMC.

A few years ago, my local dealership had a Silverado delivered that had Sierra badges on one side.

Only thing that WAS any different, other than just cosmetics, the GMC had the multi function tailgate when the Chevy didn't, for like one or two years. Now they both have it.

It is has been this way for years, My dad had a truck in the 70's that was a chevy from one side , gmc on the other.

One thing I love about the GM HD trucks with the diesel.... Only all American made pickup truck available

Meanwhile the Ford 6.7 is made in Mexico, and the Ram HD trucks are also made in Mexico

Kudos to GM for keeping their HD truck line all American built

I agree - one of the reasons I switched from Ram to Chevy when I went from half ton to 3/4 ton. I had a horrible experience with a mexico-assembled honda cr-v and promised I'd never get another mexico-assembled vehicle. All Ram HD trucks are assembled in mexico, so it was a no-go. My 2019 Silverado 2500 has been fantastic

Hate to burst your bubbles, But I guarantee you I can find at least 50 parts on that truck that aren’t American made. Start with the radio and speakers and I have a dozen parts made in Mexico already. Haha.

No bubbles bursted... No where did I mention “truck with all American made parts”. I said, an all American built truck/engine/transmission. Which Is absolutely true.

I think it’s very clear that most of the parts on anything now are sourced from elsewhere…. The product itself though however.. is built/assembled/made (whatever you wanna call it) here in the US

By the way Steez, I don’t remember the actual percentage, but by federal law a product must have a certain percentage of American made parts to be considered/stamped “Made in USA.”

That’s why GM trucks/Duramax are labeled “assembled” or “built”

I understand. “Made in USA (with foreign and domestic parts)”. Sad that the United States was one of the worlds greatest industrialized nations in the 50’s, now we can’t build a Chevrolet without outside help.
