Got on the water around noon.. not much wind, water 53, cloudy but sun trying to break out. Launched out of Kickapoo ramp. Didn’t know what to expect but thought I’d catch at least one bass if I stuck close to the bridges. Got a white quick on 6xd.. saw a lot of them on the graph and decided to downsize bait and catch em. There were some big ones. Had a blast.. started keeping them for a guy that was fishing for crappie that wasn’t having much luck.. gave him 12 or 14 as I made two trips to deliver.. bite slowed down but fish were still there... lost a bunch as they were just barely nipping bait at the end and finally gave up and went looking for a bass as it was getting late.

Got to get a new scale as the lake record is less than three pounds. These were fun size on light tackle. May try Chandler soon.

Paddled over to my favorite bridge for bass and thought I’d hooked another white bass.

Tried to measure and it slipped off as I was taking picture... 19 inches. Big enough to quit for the day.

Tried to stay out of cold wind today and went to Neeches River near Chandler. Didn’t know what to expect as I hadn’t fished it in several years. Water level lower than I was hoping, not much going on. Caught a couple of small crappie and two small bass. Had forgotten my fish finder battery for second time in a week. bang The river need a one gigantic flushing as lots of debris just under the surface.. got hung up all afternoon.

Should have gone back to Kickapoo but was hoping to catch those white bass out of the wind.

Nice report; been awhile since I've been on the Neches side but didn't have much luck the last couple times I tried.

That War Eagle spinner bait is winner. My fishing partner caught a 4 pounder on that lure on Lake o the Pines last fall. Got us a second place big bass and third place overall.

that's pretty much the only color I throw any more.. between it and the same color finesse spinnerbait in same color. Weird how most of the time the fish will want one or the other. Easy to find them at walmarts all over east texas. cheers
