Yesterday Jan 5th I drove by the Dam and took some pics of damage. The damage can be seen starting at the flood gate along the length of the dam to Chaney Creek. There was one crew of 5 workers drilling and placing rebar. You can see many patches from previous repairs and there appear to be many more patches to complete.

I do not know the veracity of this, but a long time friend and local said they found more issues and were going 2 more feet down

Sorry I a haven’t heard anything about this. What’s going on? They dripped it 7 feet or so?

Dropped it to 6' low to do repair work on the dam. I drove by yesterday and the gates are still closed so hopefully they don't need to go lower.

This will be stupid to a lot of you, but what is the dam currently made of? Is that concrete poured in layers or is that natural ground that was dozed? All of our dams are chunk boulder/rock rip rap, never seen a dam like that.

I would think that if the lake was 6' low, the fishing should be better.

This is Canyon Lake and it's a lot older than Fork, and so far the rock riprap has never had an issue and it's an earthen dam.
Maybe it's a lack of rock issue?
