Guys, atleast he's putting in some effort. Just sign the dang thing and maybe you can thank him if it works. If not, atkeast he tried Thank you! Easy to read the ones with the constant miserable negative responses to everything and see who coincidently always has “an empty back seat” huh? Sign it….or don’t sign it. Done Exactly. Seems like everyone on here is the smartest man or woman to have ever commented on anything in the history of ever. Until someone reads it. Not alot of people on here liek to think before they talk. Some of us have kids that dont want to sti for 10 hours waiting for 3 bites this time of year. Good lord. Not everything is in just one person's box.

At least he is trying to do something. I signed it and it is very doubtful I will ever see the lake much less fish it. Fishing is America's sport.

Only private when it benefits there agenda So true, This lake is as private as the come, just like camelot bell except the entrance fee is much cheaper "Typically, the small natural lakes in Texas are held to be non-navigable, and therefore subject to private ownership and control. ... The public has no right to boat, fish, or hunt in or on the waters of private lakes, and hunting or fishing without landowner consent is a crime" I bet if you snook in there and started fishing, they would call the popo on you

The petition doesn't have to go to law makers, it can go to the owners, tpwd, lawmakers, and whoever else to get it opened up

the lake is not the problem . It is the land around the lake is.. The land is private property and the land owner will have to grant permission to use it. It will be no different that fairfield once it gets sold. That land it owned by luminate also and the state park is s to Texas. Once it gets sold we probably will lose fishing rights on fairfield also.

Dumb question, why doesn’t the state buy it and open it to the public?

Dumb question, why doesn’t the state buy it and open it to the public? I think they are in the discussion to buy the land the fairfield state park is on or some of it. But it will take an act of good faith by Luminant because if they just go with the highest bidder the state won't get get it. As far as the Squaw land its not for sale, the nuke plant is running and will be for a long time probably.

No offense but all the "squaw creek opening" threads are like watching someone trying to get their ex gf back that has already moved on. Squaw isn't opening. Sure it sucks, but at some point, you have to move forward. Luminant doesn't care about some little petition, they just don't. Unfortunately, the public control that is the covid pandemic is here for the foreseeable future and until it's not, you won't be able to put a boat on that lake.

Why doesn’t the state get Biden and the feds to just write another hot check to purchase it. “$5 Trillion? It doesn’t cost you anything”! Sorry……. As far as Squaw running for a “long time”: it’s operating contract/license is up in 2030. Not saying they won’t get an extension but 2030 was the life expectancy of that plant. The sad thing was several years ago they tried to get permitting for THREE more reactors for the Comanche Peak site which would have continued the plant many more decades and then we on the TFF would have many more decades to get to be mad about closures, fog delays, TPWD funded private corporate fishing holes……for many more decades. The EPA & NRC shut all the down for y’all though.🤷🏻♂️

Years ago, I might have gotten out of the boat to go fight a bear way back in a creek. When we pulled out, there was a nice ranger that met us and told us "not again"...
