I don't guide but will take you fishing or go with you to show how to find them using your electronics.

What a beat down. I went out today around 12:30 and fished until 3:30. The wind was absolutely brutal. SSW 15 - 25 with higher gusts. I started out on Merimac but could not find anything worth stopping for. I headed to Game Warden and had a few crappie bumps but it was to windy to fish it properly. I went back to Merimac to see if anything had changed and it had not. Soooooo I was left with one final alternative to prevent from being skunked and that was to look at Key Ranch north and Key Ranch drop off. The waves were brutal but the fish were plastered on the bottom in 15 - 18 FOW. Using a Mepps #4 I caught seven magnum sandbass and then I was done. My pride would not let me get skunked but it was just to rough out there to call it fun. Water temp was 59.x. Merry Christmas everybody!

RoadRunnerTR21: You were brave to get out there today! 12/23/2021: Cliffshot and I went out from 9 AM to 3 PM and caught 113: 107 whites, 2 nice crappie, 2 eating-size yellow bass, a short hybrid, and a cat. We spent the 1st couple of hours in the dam area to see if we could find fish in protected water, but we had only 4 or 5 fish for our efforts. We then went north starting at the A-frame (several fish), Long Ridge West (several fish), Key Ranch Drop-off (1 fish), 3-Jug Hump (many fish), Merimac Point (many fish), and Doll-house Point (very many fish). We caught some in 10 to 15 fow, but they were very reluctant to bite.with the exception of Doll-house. We caught most in 18 to 22 fow, and they bit more readily fishing straight down. We caught all on #4 Mepps - silver blade worked best. We left them still biting at Doll-house. Cliff's "hybrid" he thought - cause it pulled so hard! My neighbor Graham's hybrid caught on the 22nd while fishing with Cliff

My wife and I received a very special gift for Christmas this year. We were blessed with Dennis Christian taking us out on C.C sharing his knowledge and techniques with us. It is very rare to find someone who is willing to share as he does. Thank You Dennis

12/29/2021: The current pattern: Fish can be found on both shallow and deeper humps. However, the shallow fish are extremely finicky., whereas the deeper fish will bite if you get on top of them and thump the floor of the boat. Today, I found good concentrations of fish shallow at Saint Annes East and key Ranch Drop-off and caught a total of 5 fish. I tried a #2, and it caught nothing. The 5 were on a silver #4. The rest of the 37 fish I caught were on deeper humps - Long Ridge, Old Pond Dam, 3-Jug Hump, Spillway Hump, and Enchanted Isle Ridge, where I finished and left still catching fish. I was out from 9:45 AM to 2 PM. It was foggy for about half that time. I tried white/yellow, white/pink, and silver #4 Mepps on the deeper humps, and silver was definitely the best. Happy New Year to all!

12/30/2021: I got out a couple of times today - from 1:30 to 4 PM with heckster (72 fish) and from 4:30 to 5:30 PM with my stepson Adam (29 fish). I picked up heckster (Bob) at Lone Star Marina, and we fished Enchanted Isle Ridge, the Rock Pile, and the north finger of Spillway Hump. Caught big white bass fish at all 3 spots on #4 silver Mepps. We fished vertically in 19 to 22 fow at Enchanted Isle Ridge, both vertically and casting out at the Rock Pile in 19 to 21 fow, and casting out at Spillway Hump in 12 to 14 fow. The shallow bite on Spillway was surprisingly good - catching fish on almost every cast, and we left them still biting. Bob is an experienced angler and it was my pleasure to get to know him . On my way back to the house to pick up Adam, I passed some gulls working over schooling fish in the Long Ridge area. So Adam and I headed right back out to get some surface action. This was the best bird activity over fish I've seen On CC in several years. Adam immediately hooked up with a hybrid on his spincast, but it broke off because the drag was set too tight. He picked up a different rig and within seconds had another hybrid on. It went 21.5 inched - the biggest fish he has ever caught. We both caught big white bass, He caught another hybrid that went 21 inches, and I caught 2 hybrids going 21 and 22 inches. We only used #4 silver Mepps. There were only 3 other boats fishing this action, which was spread over several acres. Here are picks from both outings: Bob with really nice white bass Adam with his two hybrids and pic of bird action

1/1/2022: Yep, Todd, 2021 was a great fishing year. Had lots of fun fishing with old and new friends, and, wow, four overnight fishing trips! It will be hard to top that (for me) in 2022. Adam and I did get to fish today, going over to the west side of CC where it was less choppy. We had a good 1st day for 2022 with another 64 white bass and 2 nice yellow bass from noon to 3:45 PM. We caught fish at Long Ridge West, Key Ranch Drop-off, 3-Jug Hump, Old Pond Dam, and Merimac Point. At Merimac, we marked fish in 9 fow, parked up-wind of them, and made long casts downwind. We kept the Mepps 4 low to the bottom with smooth retrieves that we stopped suddenly if no bite in a 2 to 2.5 second drag. Starting the following drag smoothly usually got us a strike.
