Apparently 2 anglers were fishing Ray Hubbard yesterday when they met the cold front arrival with the gusty winds and the boat was washed up on the riprap at Terry Park. My wife found this on social media with a picture included of the boat resting on the rocks. Further information said that one of the anglers in the boat went in the lake but was OK. I’m not on social media, but this information and maybe more details are out there. Glad the angler(s) are safe, but I feel you need to be a little more “ Weather Aware”. This could have ended really bad.

Hope everyone is ok.. I was on Roberts yesterday, both front lines were obvious as they approached. First one about 0830 with the due west wind and second just after 12. Didn’t take long after the second one for the main lake to turn into an ocean.

Not sure how it happened but this ramp is only good in calm conditions. Its on the main lake with zero protection and rocks beside the dock.

I just wonder where they were? Obviously they were at a boat dock, I'm just wondering if they were trying to dock to load the boat and got sunk by a rogue wave over the transom. Been there, done that, and got the T-shirt. Fortunately I didn't have to deal with any rocks. After the storm blew through, we pulled the boat up as shallow as we could and lifted the transom as much as we could with the bilge pump running and eventually got everything back to normal, no harm no foul.

So this happened while loading up, more than likely. I can see the wind and waves getting the better of a boat owner sometimes. I know when I was 14yrs old, Lewisville lake got me in a bind when I was sneaking my dads boat out on a Saturday. I didn’t have experience at loading on a strong crosswind/wave. I kept going over the trailer fender. Then I panicked and punched it. Went into the bed of the truck. It was a 400hp TaylorCraft 17ft jet boat. It didn’t like to be turned and driven slow.

It’s a shame. That is a 2021 or 22 looking at it ! With the Raptors. $80,000 mistake.

Someone’s insurance is bouta go up!

Glad they are ok.

I watched a guy sink one on Sam Rayburn years ago. On the old Cassel Boykin ramp. It happens very quickly. Three big waves and it was sunk.
