Need some recommendations on bass fishing Central Florida lakes, any hidden gems I need to consider?? The current plan is to fish Okeechobee for a week, Toho and Kissimmee for a week and hit the Salt water in Stuart for a few days. Any other ideas out there? I envy you.. a month?  Head south, get you a peacock, from boat or from the bank.. Markham Park near Ft. Lauderdale has great entertainment for you and your dog! I fished a couple of tournaments on the St Johns River in the Palatka/Welaka area and really enjoyed it. Caught some quality fish and got to see several manatees.

If you decide to make it over to the Everglades National Park.. keep in mind the Chokoloskee area is tough on fiberglass with all the oyster bars if you don't have a guide. You could rent a kayak or canoe nearby. Flamingo is much easier on a boat, soft bottom almost everywhere except right next to visible shoreline. Feel free to PM me if you make it down that way as I would be happy to point you in the right direction at either location within a couple of miles of ramps. Walk in Water use to be one of my Favorites. It’s close to Kissimmee (camp Mack area). Reedy lake around Frostproof was always good to me. Hit Istokpoga between Kissimmee and Big O.

Headin down in a couple wks Camp Mack Kissimmee then Roland Martins Okachobee might hit Headwaters also. Can’t wait everything ready to go. Good luck Pacertom enjoy.

Hey Icon..... I made it to Lake Ida today, what an incredible little lake/ The State of Florida stocked Peacock bass and clown knife fish. I didnt catch any of those but did have ~15 largemouth////Its dang cold down here and shut down Okeechobee for me so had to venture out... I may hit it again tomorrow, I HAVE to get a peacock in hand. Here is a Lake Ida info website..... those cold snaps will usually shut the peacocks down.. got to get me one of those clownfish!  keep sending pics!
