Hello,
So I am broke and bought a bass rig. It's a 1991 Nitro 160 TF. It had/has a few issues that I feel like I have hammered out enough for a lake trial.
I would like to go tomorrow before it freezes and gets bad for weather this weekend. I live in Carrollton and grew up on Lewisville. If I was going to look for a ramp that was slower in pace (Wednesday afternoon prior to New Year I am hoping for good things) and was easy to launch and park on as I may be by myself. Which ramp/launch would you choose?
I plan to put it in the water, run the motor for a bit while on the trailer (just de-carboned the motor, new plugs, filters, rebuilt carbs, resealed the bottom end, new impeller, you know...all the obvious stuff) but I would like to let it run for a bit while still connected prior to launching and taking it for a quick spin (it's a 30 year old Evinrude 60hp, lol ...she may be grumpy). I will plan to keep it close to the launch and have the trolling motor ready and tested and a fully charged battery to hopefully get me back if it decides to get disagreeable.
Thanks for any advice and thoughts on a test/launch spot where I will bother as few as possible people.

Don't be supprised if the de-carboned the motor causes it to run rough for a full tank of gas. Never seen a motor that likes it. Takes lots of running to get it out of the system. I would suggest that you take someeone with you to help with unloading and loading the boat on the trailer. There may still be issues..

Lewisville Lake Park ramp #2 is a good place to do what you're wanting.

haven't been in a while but Pier 121 on the s.e. end of the lake will be close to Carrollton and pretty protected from the wind if ya just want to run in a small area. Not too far from the dam either if you get a south wind to stay a little protected. Good luck. Make sure your TM is in good shape. Shouldn't be too many people out during the week.

So how did it go? What ramp did you use?
You are not a good or nice person.
