I want to get ahead of the hydrilla on our lake at the ranch. I do not want to eliminate though. But to somewhat keep it at bay. What is the best spray to use? I have added 15 grass carp but leery of adding anymore. Think I would would much rather spot treat it. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks

If I had to guess you likely do not have Hydrilla. I see Hydrilla rarely in ponds. However, we see Coontail 20 to 1 over hydrilla. Likely Coontail or Millfoil. In either case the recommendations below will work.
To reduce it, but not eliminate use something called Clipper or something with the active ingredient of Flumioxazin. (Lots of options out there) You need to add a surfactant (sticking agent)
To eliminate or almost eliminate use something with the active Flouridone (The brand name is Sonar- but it has gone of patent a couple of years ago and their are generic versions of Sonar that are a bit cheaper)
There is a lot more to spraying aquatic plants than just spraying aquatic plants. Best left to a professional lake managment company who knows when, how much, and which product is best for your situation. Moreover, they will help set proper expectations. Flumioxazin is a contact herbicide and Flouridone is a systemtic. big difference in effectiveness and in price.

If it is Hydrilla, Copper Sulphate will take care of it. Tractor Supply.
