The Lake Worth Monster and the Goat Man are two very different things. Lets get real here.
The Goat Man is a ghost, or perhaps demon? A spirit of a man who due to his violent death cannot rest and haunts the woods and bridge looking for those that killed him and his family... he is stuck between the two worlds.
The Lake Worth Monster was almost certainly an undiscovered primate who was passing through. A "bigfoot". Not much evidence that it was based out of the area though. It was likely passing thorough on what we would think of as a seasonal migration headed toward SE Okie land where they are quite active.
Lets keep it real because I am keeping it real yall.
Excuse me but we don’t need some non native coming in here and setting us straight about our local folk lore. We do just fine getting it wrong on our own.

Goatman is real! I had a couple experiences there when I was living in Lewisville during high school in the 80’s.
Twice I had my car blocked in, after going across the bridge, by bonfires that were built in minutes. 40 years ago, none of the houses were there. There was basically nothing out there. No one would have known we were going there in order to plan a bonfire in the middle of the road. They really need to just destroy that bridge. This has potential, tell us more!

I took many trips down Old Alton road to GMB, but my last trip was on a hay ride. Many teens rode on that trailer that night, but we didn't all make it across that bridge... That night is etch in my memory. I still have problems sleeping in darkness.
Woke up this morning Got yourself a gun....

As teenagers we would go into now is the nature refuge and drive at night. Pretty spooky because of the lore and way the trees grew over the road. At one time there was a person living out of a hearse in the woods and we had a going bet who would run up and touch it. Nobody ever did it, monster or goat man, fake or real it was a great time to grow up and not have a care in the world.

The Nature Center is some pretty squatchy stuff. Idling through that river in the dark is an eerie feeling for sure. While idling out one night I had a giant gizzard shad jump in the boat, sucker was 18” long, landed in my lap. It was pitch black….I screamed like a little girl. Lmao!
The goat man at Worth had nothing to do with a bridge. It was a repeated sighting near Greer island, now known as goat island, on Lake Worth. The goat man supposedly tried to abduct a lady unsuccessfully at a popular “parking” spot, then with a dozen witnesses made an appearance atop a cliff and threw a tire over 500 ft at them. There have also been reports of the goat man slinging hubcaps at people near the island, but no sightings in decades. Get it right Dan!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't goat island in the main lake and Greer island in the river at the nature center?

Got it right ^^^^ I grew up on the Trinity River 1/2 mile down from the Lake Worth spillway. It was a common prank to have a couple guys hide in the woods on the side of the road in a predetermined place for someone with a date to pull over for a little nookie. All kinds of screaming and panic attacks followed.
