Canyon Lake Crappie. I could not get a good image of them because they where hugging the cover. Not to mention the cover was surrounded by cover. I didn't use electronics for these fish. I was checking out sharp bends in the creek channels. I found a bend that had a draw or ditch that lead straight to some standing timber at the back of the bend towards the shoreline. I fished the ledge up to the timber and struck gold soon as I dropped my first minnow in the timber. I could have caught more but this is all we need for my family to enjoy a nice crappie meal. I only caught one with a jig, they didn't seem to like the jigs no matter what arrangement I offered them. Minnows didn't stay down for more than 5 minutes. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/12/full-116373-122213-canyon_crappie.jpg)

Cool. I caught a couple Crappie in Medina this year too, but they seem rare there also.
