Frank, Gene and I went to Texoma Sunday morning and it was 28 degrees up there at 9:30 am OMG We wanted to get one last trip in before Christmas and Texoma was the ticket. It was so cold that our rods and reels were freezing up with ice on the lines and rod guides. My hands were so cold they hurt. crazy But we stuck it out and found some good hungry fish bouncing a fluke along the bottom at several coves in 15 to 25 foot of water. We landed 7 overs and 13 box fish that were 18 to 19 1/2 inches. Those are good box fish. We tried chasing the birds but only got two fish out of that. We couldn't quite figure out what thy wanted. But Frank and I got some good fillets to eat and we all caught a big fish. Saw very few boats out as it was really cold. But it was worth the trip since we made a pretty good meat haul. Had a blast Frank and Gene. See ya next year on the water.

Been there under the same conditions with similar results. Nice bunch of fish.
The more the fish bite the less the cold feels. Dip your rod in the water to clear the ice but then it comes right back.

Dead stick junkies and fluke tossers don't get cold. They just put on pants. Must have been extra cold as I have always seen Plano fishing in shorts.

Good report !!

It was cold but it was also a great day fishing. I have never slow rolled flukes in shallow water before but that was the ticket on Sunday. I am glad you both got to make it. Now we are waiting on this warm weather to settle into a real winter so the dead stick bite will get good.

Amen to that prospect . Pressure is unpredictable as is the water temps. 25 degrees over the normal high has got the Pelagic fish traveling in circles.

What a great trip, glad you were rewarded after being brave enough to brave the cold.
