Got wind of some Rainbows getting stocked down at the West Guth Duck Pond so I trekked over to get a video cooked and some dinner filmed... The day did not go as planned but man I had some fun. And I would love your thoughts as to what was kicking my a** out there! Happy holidays guys, hope everyone here is having a very Merry Christmas!

Neat video. Next time you fish for Rainbow Trout use a much smaller hook. Also try the Berkley Trout Bait-Cheese colored. Take some Gold Super Duper Lures 1 1/4" with you also . You will do much better!  Side Note: You might have had a nice catfish on your line?

@banker-always fishing Could've been catfish... will they take corn? I'm hearing Carp in the video comments. Also, thank you for the advice on fishing rainbows. I don't know the first thing about it, just learning here and pretty eager to get into a limit. Total bucket-list fish for me. They're restocking in January so I'm going to try again then.

I love the late fall and winter when Parks & Wildlife has the stocking season for Rainbow Trout. They are a blast to catch and are very good eating. Light tackle works the best. On the hook size for the power bait use the size 12. Also 4 to 6 pound test line. Side Note: A Channel Cat will bite on just about anything and yes you can catch them with corn. Carp will also bite on corn. Another bait that works well even on Rainbow Trout is the live night crawler. Break them up in quarter to half inch pieces and trout will hit them. Hope to see a future video with you catching a limit of Rainbow Trout.

I'm headed to Academy now, gonna bulk up the ol' freshwater setup. Thank you for everything, I REALLY appreciate the advice and I'm hoping to get them next go around. Not giving up!
