We try to stay at Marriot. Stayed in the one-off Bryant Irving in Ft. Worth 2 days ago for 89 plus taxes. Marriot member and senior discount helped out. bolt

I try to stay with Hilton brands, it keeps my points up. As much as I travel at work, I usually look. for a Garden Inn. If they are not in the area, I will find the most convenient Hilton brand thatโ€™s nearby. Those points were good to have when we were traveling 30 weekends a year for my son to play baseball all over the place.

I was on the road doing technical sales for 27 years, refineries, gas plants, chemical plants you name it. I stayed in them all. I did my share of West Texas thatโ€™s for sure.

Company I worked for at one time had a 68 dollar a night Corp. rate at the Bay Front in Corpus. It was originally built as a Hersey back in the day. The regular rate started at about 250 per night. I stayed there so much I didnโ€™t have to stand in line to get my key, they had mine over to the side waiting for me. The 20 dollar breakfast buffet was not always easy to explain on my expense report, but the best breakfast buffet in Texas in my books.

Thanks, Billy

My favorite is one close to a lake. It means Iโ€™m going fishing ALL WEEKEND.

I like to stop by and go in and tell them I saw their sign and came by for the free breakfast. Seems they don't like that.

Drury Inn....well kept, reasonable prices and friendly desk personel....free breakfast with a good selection plus at night they have a free drink and food bar (soup, chicken strips, tacos) which can serve as an evening meal if weather is real bad outside as it was a few years when my wife and i stopped in Cape Girardeu,Mo......my second choice would be Comfort Inn...reasonably priced, free breakfast and pet friendly....

Back in the good old expense account days my favorites were: Barton Creek Resort near Austin (golf, great breakfast, cool bar); Grove Park Inn in Asheville (beautiful stone building in beautiful setting); and the Westin St. Francis before San Fran became a toilet.

The Wigwam Golf Resort is a hidden gem on Phoenix's west-side. Close to the football stadium, three 18 hole golf courses and lots of Arizona history. A Sheridan or Hampton is about as low as I can go when it comes to hotel/motels.

I'm traveling 200 nights a year. All over TX/NM/Mexico.
I do wyndham just because there's something everywhere. And the free nights are the best.

If I mostly traveled to metro areas, it would be Hilton or Marriots.

We stay at the Drury Inn when possible, but they just don't have enough locations. Comfort is usually a good, but you have to read the reviews online and stay in the newer ones. Thankfully, Texas Farm Bureau members get a good discount at both hotels.

We stayed at Hotel Emma and it was great. I'd suggest making your wife happy and book a night there. It's expensive.
