Have a 1198 on the bow connected to a 1197 at the console by ethernet cable for sharing waypoints. Acquired a non Mega 360 transducer that I would like to connect to the 1198. What is the best way to share waypoints and use the 360 at the same time?

I know, time to upgrade, just waiting for a couple of Helix 12s Gen ??? and Mega 360s to become readily available next year! But these old dinosaurs are working great for the time being.

thanks

The original 360 is an Ethernet device, so it has to connect to the 1198c SI Combo either directly or via an Ethernet Switch.
If you still want to share data between units, connecting both of them and the 360 will have to be done via the AS ETH 5PXG.
You would need an Ethernet cable between each unit and the Switch.

A new 360 comes with a 20' Ethernet cable, a power cable, and a AS GPS HS antenna.
The AS GPS HS allows for marking and viewing waypoints on the 360 view if you connect it and turn on 360 Navigation.

There are three versions of the original 360: Fortrex, Ultrex, and transom.

Thanks Wayne. Bought the 360 transducer a while back from a guy who sold his boat and left the HS antenna on the boat. Have ethernet cable from each device to the 1198 and been changing the ethernet cable connections on the back of the 1198 as needed to see each independent function. Not trying to see waypoints on the 360 screen, just on the Lakemaster mapping screen. Thought maybe there was a way to toggle between using shared waypoints on Lakemaster OR seeing 360 without waypoints. Given the plan to upgrade in 2022 doesn't make much sense to spend $269 for the Switch.

You can export your waypoints from one unit and load them to the other unit's memory so you don't have to link the displays to see all your waypoints on both units.

The mapping you have has nothing to do with waypoints, mapping is map data and waypoints are GPS data. Mapping is just a background on the Chart Plotter view. You get GPS data with or without any background mapping.

I just installed 2 Helix gn4 units on my boat and I love them.
