With all this warm air and a stiff south wind I figured I'd try my hand down on Buchanan. It was not a numbers evening I managed one eater and so many dinks it was not funny. I did however get one descent sized fish. She came in at 39 inches long with a girth of 23 and 3/4 inches. Not sure what weight that translates to but was definitely a hefty fish also the largest fish I have landed solo from that dock. Two things I now know, I need a larger net and I need to get a protein tub or rubbermaid tote to place fish in waiting for photos. Don't like placing fish on a stringer that are to be released. The biggun and the dinks came on perch fillets and the lone eater came on live perch. Not sure what the water temps were but guessing at least 60 something as I was getting Rios in my perch trap set in about two feet of water which seems very odd for this time of year. Also hooked one was bent on finding the other end of the lake. Granted I fish with lighter gear than most, but I absolutely could not turn it. I cranked down on my drag when I started to see the mono backing and blew the gears out of a 4000 series Tsunami inshore reel, busted my knuckles from pinky to my middle finger all to heck on the bail when they went. That fish came on a live perch about 8 inches in length.

Thanks Gar1970. Yep I gotta get a new one I ain't too upset about that but the wife will probably be that way. Woulld also like to get a scale too, as inaccurate as they can be it would at least get an approximation.
Fish Inspector I was at Hi Line it's a pretty great place. From my understanding from folks that I know in the big town of Tow Paradise is closed indefinitely.
