My past experience with this: You can repair the break, but if the metal is flexing at that point/area, plan on having another break right next to your patch.

Lake LBJ Marineland (Kingsland) repaired (welded) a crack in a bow seam on my G3 about 6 years ago. I've used it in some fairly rough water since then, and there have been no issues with the weld.

A thousands times this! One of the reasons I highly prefer fiberglass over aluminum is the how difficult it is to truly repair a crack in an aluminum hull.

It’s not hard to repair. You just need the right welder, utilizing the right process, applying the right filler metal. Guys that go hire some monkey with a low amp spool gun to “fix” their cracked welds are going to keep having issues….

Not sure where you are located, but I do aluminum repairs on boats. ToasterWEyes is right it will need to be Tig welded with the correct filler rod and prep work.

Where is the crack? My xpress had the keel cracked and some of the rear on the transom. After digging in to it I found lots of issues with the rigging on the engine that caused some issues. Like said above, find a good shop that don't mind getting into tight spots to repair an issue.

How old is the boat?
Call manufacturer and let them tell you where to have it repaired.
God loves you just as much as anybody else!!
Jesus offered His life as a gift for you. Please accept it!

My boat (not Xpress) two years out of warranty cracked wide open on the keel. The manufacturer took it back, tore it apart, fixed it better than new, and sent it back..... for free. Call a dealer and the manufacturer!!!
