Video on KSAT12 showing a couple of guys getting plucked from their boat on Amistad over the weekend. They were up river, don't know which one, and ran up on a sand bar. Could have been bad but the man upstairs was looking after them. By the looks of it, they were running at a pretty good pace. I don't know how to post a link, maybe someone else can do it.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Is salvage rights just a saltwater thing or does it apply to lakes too?

All of your tackle and your boat was left behind. Was there anything left the following day? What are the odds?

Looks like a gambler bass boat. Prob just put a light scratch on it. That's the big water boat, and can take more than anything out there IMO. Been in one in 30+ winds over 65mph and it was loaping thru the waves.

Must have been going wayyyy too fast and either lost control or hit something as that's a 150' or so trail across. Sucks.

someone needs to let these men know that outboards dont do as good on dry land. Looks like the outboard got them about 50 yards tho...pretty impressive.

They were running to the Pecos. Hit the sand bar during the early morning. Had experience doing it during prior tourneys. This time it change and they didn't hit the channel correct. It's skinny water up there if you would try it. I know several who have and some get stuck. Not sure if he will get his boat back. Not just a Hanselman video, they've done it several time prior but things change on this lake over night. Hopefully the cartel don't get the boat that is a dream for the cartel.
