Out of curiosity, I looked at the record and was shocked at the low weight. I personally caught many over 3.5 lbs. of course back in the 80’s I was not thinking about records. In fact the outdoor writer for the Dallas morning news went fishing with us the day I had 10 that passed 30 lbs. I lost one that was in the 20” range and one a little bigger we thought. I still have a pic of a 4 lb 3 oz fish caught there. It was not the largest one either. We caught a black crappie in the same range. We didn’t catch many of those. We were wading and using modified outfits.

What lake was this supposed to have happened on? I've fished a lot further back than the 80's and never caught a lot over 3.5# and certainly never saw 10 that weighed 30# in one day. Would like to see the picture.

I saw a 20inch fish caught there on an 10XD. Posted pics of it at the time and everyone gave me sh** saying no way it was over 16.

I dont think they know how big an 10XD is. The bait was in the fishes mouth in the photo. My buddy who caught it had pics of it on a yard stick. My pics of are just of him holding it. B

But yeah... I believe there are some giant crappies in there. They dont act like other crappie so we dont run into them much. Example the fish I am talking about was caught trolling that crankbait through schools of hybrids. Go figure.

Wow...I've fished Lewisville for crappie for 25+ years, and have caught some 2#+ fish, but never anything like what you're describing. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I certainly would be very interested in seeing some sort of proof. Because if there are a large population of 3# crappie in Lewisville, you can bet I'll spend the next year trying to find them.

I know that 3lb plus fish existed in Lewisville before they raised the pool level and introduced Hybrids. I caught 2 in 1day wade fishing the willows in Golf Course Cove. I also caught a 3.75 lb Out of Grapevine that same year before they dropped the Hybrids in Grapevine destroyed the fishery for 10 years. But 10 that goes 30lbs Must have been a school of a lifetime.
