I haven't trout fished since I was stationed on the west coast many moons ago.I used flies, never was good but I figured it out, small spoons and occasionally night crawlers and crickets.Noticed they already started stocking in Wichita Falls.............thinking bout taking the grandkids this weekend. What do these Texas stockers prefer??

Super dupers, spinners, flies, powerbait, corn. Just about anything. Just scale your tackle down, because they're fairly small.

I see a change from previous years. I don't see Buescher state park on the list, it looks like they are putting them in Bastrop state park instead. I've never been in that park, I may have to check it out.

Also, where exactly do they put the trout at Boerne city park? Are they in Cibolo creek in the park?

Noticed they were lined up fishing the little dammed up part of the Paluxy River in the middle of Glen Rose today(Friday 12/3). Now I know why. [Linked Image]

There's a photo in this thread that's very typical of Texas stocked trout:

I drove to Kerrville Sunday to try to nab some trout. Other than a few rings right near the dam I didn't see any sign of trout all day. It was cold and gray and windy which shouldn't bother trout at all. I got a few nibbles on bait from some small fish, probably sunfish, and heard a few big splashes, but overall was very disappointed with this park for fishing.
