Went there yesterday (Monday) only to find the water level so low that the ramps are not usable. Must be down about six feet. Are they working on something at the damn?

Apparently every four years they drop the lake so homeowners can do repairs on docks.

Yes, it was dropped intentionally.

Yes sir, dropped so land owners can do repairs. That lake is so heavily spring fed they have to manually lower it, i think the county controls this but not 100% sure. Awesome little lake though.

Saw an update that they will keep it down until December 15th and then begin to let it fill. Hopefully is true

Maybe this will provide an opportunity to get some of the rebar out of there.

Maybe this will provide an opportunity to get some of the rebar out of there. Pretty sure they have a regular(annual?) draw down and there is as much(or more) rebar than ever. Good idea though!

Always like fishing that lake but not enough to risk a gouge in the bottom of the boat.

Had a friend go stay the night at her grandmothers house on Hawkins last week, she said it was so low she could walk out into the middle of some parts of the lake…. I just told her to drop some pins of tire piles on google maps for me lmaoo Was just out there (at the Taste of Italy restaurant). WE stood by the ramp there. No way it is 7 feet low. Maybe 4 or at max 5 but not 7. There were several folks working on piers and boat docks and what looked like several new docks. I did not see anywhere where you could walk across the lake, even on the upper end. Anyway, it would impossible due even if it was 7 feet low due to the thick silt and goo layers on the bottom. The stumps in the upper middle of the lake are exposed (where the boat lane buoys are). All I can say is don't wander out of the boat lane. Plenty of stumps to meet you. I did not see one piece of rebar on these stumps. I have fished that lake quite a bit and only know of one small cut (not even a cove) that has rebar ponded into stumps. I have not fished every foot of the lake so there may be some more but it is not the rebar filled lake some make it out to be.

Well this stinks I was hoping to go out there with a buddy of mine next weekend, but it looks like we will fish else where if the ramps aren't usable.

Is the lake still drawn down or back up? Where exactly did they store the draw down water where they can just fill it back up?
