You don't run R C unless you are a season pro at it.

More hazards under the water than above it. Be cautious

There’s stuff in the middle that’ll sink a boat and get ya killed.

That lake takes a LONG time to learn how to get around without hitting stumps. There are stumps in 50 FOW that are inches below the surface. Then there is huge flats that’ll get ya stuck an 1/8!mile from the bank.

The closest I’ve ever come to destroying a boat was on that lake. Fork is a walk in the park compared to RC, as it has boat lanes. RC is dangerous, with no rhyme or reason for what ya hit and where ya hit it.

Do not run this lake without someone SHOWING you where to run. And NEVER run what they don’t show you.

Saying that….there are some giants in that lake.

Just be careful.

there are some huge areas that are scary to run. the closer you get to the dam the easier it is to run

I'm curious how some of y'all ever even fish or run your boat. I've been on RC maybe a total of 50 times since it opened. I've ran around everytime.

Usually people just say their special spots are dangerous, now they want the whole lake to themselves!

You’re right.

Everyone just point the boat and HAMMER DOWN!!! When ya tear the engine off the back of the transom, I’ll buy y’all’s graphs that didn’t show the stump until it was 6” from the lower unit.

Honestly, I could care less if ya tear up your boat…I’ll just smile and nod.

You got a death wish for someone new to the lake. When it opened much of the treelines and trees were visible to avoid but as it’s aged and decayed not so much.

BTW what’s the tournament there coming up, seeing bunch of recent RC questions.

its a big silty/stumpy dust bowl, majority of the lake I wouldn't even think about running....you will think you are safe then run past a random stump 6 inches out of the water and start puckering again. Would def have someone show you around before running.

THSBA derby there this Saturday. Look up RC Structureman on this forum, I hired him for 1/2 a day, He’ll show you. The lake is treacherous, but after running on pad from about as far north as he cared to go and then to the dam I felt a little more confident. Then he decided he wanted to show us the west arm of the lake and the TXI Plant. We got to the timber and then idled another 3/4 mile to it. The best advise I can give is watch your electronics closely for timber and depth changes. The lake is full of quality fish. I believe his name is Thurman, he’s a retired police officer and has fished it for 20+ years and really knows his way around the lake SAFELY! As stated, it’s a hazardous lake to navigate so be careful.
