Well, a day off work means a day on the water... Wyatt and I hit the marina about 6:00am. Surface temp was 54. Shad were starting to school. Threw the net twice and had all the bait we needed and then some.

What little wind there was couldn't decide which direction it wanted to blow from. It was all over the place but there was never really enough of it to drift on anyway. Stayed south as we were marking fish all over the place. Caught a couple nice eaters early. Nana said bring a couple home so we did. Sitting out on the south flats, dead flat calm, pulling boards with the trolling motor and we get a wierd takedown. Sort of soft and just started moving to the side. Reeled down and he started pulling back. Felt like a decent fish but nothing too big. Closer he got to the boat the harder he pulled. Ended up being 35 pounds! Had to pack up and leave after that. Got a hockey tournament tonight. Gonna be back out there tomorrow. Really looking forward to that with the forecast for rain.
