Set alarm for 4:00 a.m. Woke up at 3:30. Heard the rain (1 inch), let my cat in the house (he was not happy), went back to sleep. Woke up around 8:00, was already loaded up, hit the road around 9:30. On the water around noon. It was windy. Never checked the weather until I saw all the whitecaps. Decided this would be minimal gear day.. no fishing big bridge as wind was howling through it, no need for graph and battery, only three rods, no tackle boxes. Carried sack with a few extra [Linked Image]
baits in case I broke any off. Rigged up with spinner bait , crank bait, and 6 inch swimbait.

Caught 9, nothing over 3 lbs, caught most on crank bait but stuck with it longer after catching the first one and getting bit regularly at railroad bridge.. It doesn’t look windy but it was blowing 18 to 20 until I was headed back in.

Don’t know what was worse... the wind or listening to cowboy game on drive home.

Anything you can haul down bridge embankment.. I've seen guys with small two man boats and one with a small motor. You can't legally park on shoulder of bridge to unload.. got warning from game warden a while back. You have to park and then figure a way to walk your craft about 75-100 yards to first area you can launch. With two people it makes everything much easier. It takes me minimum 3 trips to get kayak and gear unloaded. If you're by yourself, take some rope to tie up to railing or pipe as kayak or boat will slide all the way to water if it gets started downhill. Nice folks fishing the banks, lots of vehicles in lot at times, never had a problem. I try to pick up any trash at the launch on way out. Lake level dropping. Hope to be out there again this weekend.

Don't know his name, but traffic was busy on bridge and he was holding it up.. guess he didn't want to deal with it that day as it was almost dark by the time I got everything up embankment. Lucky me! I won't do it again.. roflmao
