Use a spinning rod and burn a weightless 3'' metallic silver tube. Ran into the same situation on Lake Mead, NV. many times and killed them. T Bird do you have a link to those tubes?

I've seen this at Texoma when the stripers are chasing little dime sized shad, they would not touch the crankbait lures I usually fish with. Once I switched to a small 16 oz crappie jig with a clip on bobber to allow me to throw it far, it was fish on.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Thank you everyone! Next time I'm at Lake Ouachita I'll be ready and have some different baits.

Nothing is more frustrating than fishing frenzy all around you and nothing on the end of the line....

I fish that lake a good bit for stripers....and one thing I never go on the lake without is this; Stripers there love rainbows and with a hatchery on the lake and occasional releases it definitely pays to have a rainbow pattern with you.

that is the ticket, I have caught lots of fish with those. If the bait fish are larger , you can use a 3-4 in plastic bait on a simple j hook. You can throw those launchers a mile. Mo
